Begin with your application category

Before collecting a large folder of documents, confirm the applicable route on ICA’s official website. Requirements depend on your circumstances. Use the checklist presented for your application and family profile rather than a generic list forwarded in a chat. A document pack from another applicant may contain items you do not need and omit items relevant to you.

Create a document register

A simple table can make preparation easier: document name, person concerned, date, whether an updated copy is needed and whether translation is required. Keep a separate column for questions. This is especially useful for family applications, where similar names and multiple sets of records can create confusion.

Check the story told by the records

Review names, employment dates, qualifications and family details across the material you intend to submit. If records contain a legitimate difference, find the supporting explanation rather than silently changing the information. Consistency means accurate, explainable information; it does not mean making every document say the same thing when circumstances have changed.

Keep supporting information relevant

Present the requested evidence clearly and truthfully. Do not add invented achievements or exaggerated contributions to make an application look stronger. If you include an explanation of your circumstances where appropriate, use factual language and make it easy to connect statements to supporting records. Long documents are not automatically more persuasive.

Use official instructions for submission

Follow ICA’s current document and translation requirements, and review the applicable National Service information when relevant to your family. Keep control of your account and retain the submission acknowledgement. You can apply directly to ICA. Engaging an adviser does not provide privileged access or guarantee approval.

Plan life around uncertainty

Avoid treating an application as an approved outcome when making financial, employment or family commitments. Keep track of official correspondence and respond accurately if further information is requested. Trust Vision can help you organise your preparation and identify inconsistencies for clarification. ICA decides the application; a consultant cannot responsibly promise a result or a fixed approval date.
