Discuss your next step
Singapore skylineTRUST VISION · SINGAPORE
Before you begin

Four foundations for your company.

01

Name & activity

Choose a proposed name and describe what the company will do. Check whether the activity requires a separate licence.

02

People & ownership

Identify shareholders, share allocations and directors. At least one director must meet Singapore local residency requirements.

03

Address & records

Prepare a Singapore registered office address, constitution and financial year end, plus relevant controller and nominee information.

04

Company secretary

Arrange the appointment within six months of incorporation. A sole director cannot also act as the company secretary.

From idea to incorporation

A clear sequence. A considered start.

01

Plan

Discuss business activities, ownership and the support required.

02

Prepare

Organise identity records, consents, the constitution and company details.

03

Register

Coordinate the name and incorporation steps through the appropriate filing arrangement.

04

Get operational

Plan banking, licences and ongoing company obligations separately.

Your preparation checklist

Bring the essentials into focus.

  • Proposed company names and a description of business activities.
  • Director and shareholder details, ownership percentages and share capital.
  • Registered office address, company email and financial year end.
  • Constitution, consents, and controller or nominee information where applicable.
Company incorporation does not grant a work pass or guarantee a bank account. Confirm the filing provider, service scope and fees before engagement; the EA licence applies to employment-agency activities.

Common questions

Start informed.

Do I need to be in Singapore to own a company?

Ownership and permission to live or work in Singapore are separate matters. Discuss the proposed ownership and management structure, including the locally resident director requirement.

What does the service cost?

Request a written quotation identifying professional fees, government fees and any recurring services. Address, secretarial, nominee director and accounting arrangements should be confirmed separately.

Is incorporation the end of the process?

No. Your company may need sector licences, banking arrangements and ongoing filings. Plan those obligations before you begin operating.

What if my proposed company name is unavailable?

Prepare alternatives and review the nature of your business before proceeding. Name availability and acceptance are subject to the registration process; a preferred name cannot be promised.

Can incorporation and banking be planned together?

Yes. It helps to discuss ownership, intended activities and payment needs early. Company registration and the bank’s account-opening decision remain separate processes.

Which documents should I prepare first?

Start with the proposed business activities, ownership structure and details of the people involved. Confirm the filing provider’s specific identity-verification and supporting-document requirements before sending records.

Will I receive a written scope and fee breakdown?

Request a quotation that distinguishes registration support, government charges and any recurring services. Confirm the filing provider and who handles ongoing company obligations.

Can you help if I also need permission to work in Singapore?

Discuss the company and work-pass plans together so the steps are coordinated. Owning or incorporating a company does not by itself authorise you to work in Singapore.
